Mark your progress with Pitmaster Patches
Mark your progress with a patch, sure... but the real progress happens when you become a backyard BBQ hero. The true milestone is the delicious barbecue with family and friends. These patches are only a small marker of your progress.
How it works
Step 1: Complete one of our four foundational Pitmaster Classes
Step 2: Apply the skills you learned for the next cookout and snap a photo.
Step 3: Take the class assessment to tell us about your cook and share a photo.
Step 4: Check the mail! Your Pitmaster Patch will ship soon.
Repeat: Do this for all four foundational classes.
Step 5: When all four classes are complete, take the Gold Pitmaster course to earn the patch!
4 foundational Pitmaster Classes
Brisket
The crown jewel in the BBQ world. You will master this soon enough. You got this!
Pork Ribs
Ribs are an all-American BBQ staple. Learn how to create crowd pleasing BBQ ribs.
Chicken
Probably the most cooked meat, you will learn many skills here that go outside of the BBQ realm.
Pulled Pork
The definition of low and slow is found when smoking pulled pork. Fire up the smoker!
Get Your Pitmaster Status
Complete all four foundational Pitmaster Classes, then tell us what you learned by taking the Gold Pitmaster course, crowning you a Backyard BBQ Hero!
Classes & Challenges
All-Access members can earn limited run patches by completing other Pitmaster Classes during a specific time period.
Also, from time to time completing a monthly challenge will earn you a limited Pitmaster Patch specific for that challenge. Challenges might include mastering a specific BBQ technique, cooking barbecue for a community fundraiser, our whatever else might be on our minds!
These opportunities will be announced in the News section, in the Facebook group, and in the Grill Squad email.
